Shoulder injuries are one of the most common injuries for all circus artists. How can you recognize when something isn't right? What can you do to prevent injuries? What cues can you use to eliminate shoulder pain in positions that commonly cause issue? And, when should you refer your student to a healthcare provider? This session is for instructors who want to learn more about protecting the shoulders of their student aerialists and acrobats. During the session we will discuss shoulder biomechanics, pain presentation, common injuries, and some of the best exercises to incorporate into your lesson plans to improve your students range of motion while protecting them from injury.
