Hypermobility is more prevalent in aesthetic performing artists such as dancers and circus artists. Often diagnosis and appropriate management of hypermobility related disorders is delayed because the multi-system effects of connective tissue disorders are not connected. Educated healthcare professionals, coaches, and family/friends can support hypermobile artists to optimize their health and perform to the best of their ability. This session will include an overview of hypermobility disorders, a discussion of commonly overlooked or misunderstood symptoms, and strategies to support the health and optimize the performance of hypermobile artists.
